Essence Pugh, Owner of A Touch of Essence Events, is a Greenville, SC Native. Essence found her passion in events about 15 years ago. She started with small events, family functions, dinners, family vacations – you name it, she was the one! In 2009 she had the opportunity to plan one of the best events, her wedding! Through the process Essence learned that she had acquired skillsets in corporate America that were transferable to making wedding planning quite simple. She married the man of her dreams in May 2010 and enjoyed ever moment of the wedding due to the proper planning. Soon after the wedding, Essence had many people making comments like “That was the best wedding I have ever been too!”, “I can’t believe everything started on time”, “WOW, you were able to have fun and you planned and decorated it”! She soon realized that everyone wasn’t experiencing the same for such a special day. This is what birth her passion for planning and decorating weddings, life, and corporate events. Essence, believe that it is critical that everyone has the same opportunity to celebrate life and create lasting memories. More than likely, if you are on the planning committee, the cousin, sister, friend that has raised your hand for this special task or you have decided to DO-IT-YOURSELF, you will not fully enjoy the event that you have planned due to the many tasks, critical attention to detail and staff required to ensure the event is one to remember. Since 2010, Essence has planned many events and everyone still raves about the events she plans. She attributes her success to Customer Service Excellence, Organizational Skills, and Unique Décor specific to my client’s request.

Essence has invested in certifications, training, continued to build relationships with new and existing clients, and remained willing to learn which has led to where she is today! While planning and decorating Essence held a full-time senior role at one of Americas largest banking institutions. Recently in June 2018, Essence had the opportunity to become an entrepreneur full time. Since then Essence has opened a new event venue in Simpsonville, SC and has hosted 50+ events. Essence is passionate about her faith, family and business and gives every client her absolute best.
